WELCOME TO AVID AT MATHER!
 
Advancement Via Individual Determination ("AVID") is a national program used in nearly 5,500 schools nationwide and in 16 countries and territories. AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

AVID students did the following by the end of the 2016-2017 school year:
 
  • The class of 2017 completed 350+ college apps, along with FAFSA & scholarship apps.
  • The class of 2017 earned $350,000 in scholarships.
  • The class of 2018 earned 539,000 energy points on Khan Academy
  • The class of 2019 earned 3,000 service learning hours.
  • 60% of AVID juniors and seniors attempted AP classes and exams.
