Covid-19 Information
Reported Covid-19 Cases, Student Quarantines, and Remote Learning Instructions
- When a student self-reports a positive Covid-19 test to CPS, Contact Tracing opens an investigation to determine close contacts.
- A community letter is sent out once the positive Covid-19 case has been confirmed.
- All close contacts that were identified through the case investigation will receive an appropriate letter from Contact Tracing and will be added to the No Admittance list.
- Vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine if identified as a close contact. If someone has not yet reported their vaccination status, they should respond to the close contact letter with their vaccination information or email [email protected]. You can also call (773) 553-KIDS (5437).
- If your student received a notification to quarantine, once you submit proof of vaccination, they will be cleared to return to school as long as they remain asymptomatic. However, this process may take 1-2 school days.
Vaccinations
All Chicago residents 12 years and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Minors under the age of 18 will need a parent or legal guardian present for the vaccine to be given.
Both Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy are also open for vaccination appointments.
