Meet Mr. Shukla!

Greetings friends and families in Mather's neighborhood community!
My name is Aneesh Shukla and I am an English teacher at Mather High School. I am honored to be a part of one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in the city! It has been a special privilege to be able to teach here and it continues to be an exciting adventure each day!
After moving to the United States from India as an infant, I grew up in many different places around the country, but I ended up in Oklahoma where I did my Bachelor's of Arts in Letters at the University of Oklahoma. Then, I chose to go back to India for two years to study comparative philosophy and religion. When I returned, I completed a Master's of Arts in English and Creative Writing through Southern New Hampshire University. And finally, I found my way to Chicago to complete my Master's in Secondary Education (English) at DePaul University. After completing my student teaching at Holy Trinity High School, I got my first full-time teaching position here at Mather!
I look forward to meeting with parents and other stake holders in the students' education throughout the year. I am always available to email at if you have any questions or concerns!
