About Mrs. Cenan

Welcome parents and students!

My name is Amela Cenan. I have been working as a math teacher with CPS for 19 years and teaching at Mather HS since February of 2019. I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and came to United States in 1995. After graduating from Northeastern Illinois University with a dual degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, I pursued post graduate studies at National Luis University - Chicago, and graduated with Master's Degree in Secondary Math Education. I also have teaching endorsement in the field of Computer Science and Special Education. I enjoy connecting with my students and seeing them grow academically.

I look forward to having a wonderful and productive school year with the students and staff of Mather HS.
